Gabriela Martinez and her family opened Campesina Farm on Midland Avenue in March. The store sells fruits and vegetables, plus Hispanic products dating back to the Martinez family's heritage.
"I think it will be fun," Gabriela Martinez told Daily Voice. "I believe it will be hectic at times but I think it will be fun."
Martinez the family is close-knit.
Campesina Farm will have a juice bar and sell meat, fish and bread along with produce. Martinez said the food comes from countries like Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador and other locations.
Her family moved to Garfield around nine years ago. Together they will run the store along with some high school students they plan to bring in and teach the ropes.
